A New Page, owned and operated by Yvette Page, opened its doors on October 4th, 2003, after an extremely enthusiastic shove from the Universe! Yvette went into recovery from alcoholism in 1994, at the age of 42. This was the beginning of her adult spiritual journey. At the time, she was an employee of Northeast Utilities and her plan was to remain at NU until age 55, when she would be eligible for a viable pension. She always loved books and felt that owning a recovery bookstore would be the perfect way to spend her retirement time. The Universe had other (BIG!!) ideas. Two months after she turned 50 years old, she was layed off. After she picked herself up, figuratively speaking of course, she decided that now was the time to work on her passion—the bookstore. So with a Herculean effort by family and friends, A New Page was birthed into the world. The shop offers many unique items that delight the body, mind, and spirit Update! New Page has opened up at a new loaction (1060 newfield st middletown ct) with outdoor space, workshop area, and new helpers hosting all sorts of fun activities..
